Buying, building or importing an aircraft: apply for a Canadian registration certificate
Confirm owner eligibility, establish ownership, reserve marks and file before operating the aircraft.
A bill of sale or marks painted on the aircraft do not replace a valid certificate. Do not fly before all registration and airworthiness conditions are met.

Gather the bill of sale, ownership chain, manufacturer, model, serial number, weight, import or foreign deregistration and requested marks.
Complete the process
Use the correct form, pay the fee and send required originals or certified copies to the regional office.
Keep follow-up records
Confirm interim or permanent certification, display marks correctly and promptly report ownership, address or status changes.
