Guide

Commercial, fundraising or promotional activity in a national park: obtain the local business licence

Describe the activity, locations and season, check land use and related permits, file with the park, then display and renew the licence.

Priority

Non-profit status does not automatically exempt the activity. Guiding, outfitting, Banff and Jasper may have additional processes.

Confirm the scope

Identify the park, sites, mobility, duration, revenue, fundraising, promotion, staff, vehicles and clients.

Prepare the information

Check land-use, impact, species, safety, guiding, outfitting and cumulative municipal requirements.

Complete the process

Request the park form and attach registration, insurance, plans, permits and applicable fee.

Keep follow-up records

Await the licence, follow areas and conditions, display it and manage renewal or changes before operating.
