Protect the crop, notify before operations alter the evidence and document acreage, cause and losses.
Do not destroy, harvest or rework an affected field before checking required authorization. An inspection may be needed first.
Limit the loss
Take reasonable steps to protect the crop without erasing signs of damage. Record weather, pest, disease or other suspected cause.
Give prompt notice
Contact the service centre as required by the coverage and timing rules. Provide the client number, affected units and discovery date.
Document fields
Keep maps, acreage, varieties, seeding dates, inputs, dated photos, comparable yields and extra expenses.
Wait for directions
Confirm permitted work before harvest, abandonment or replanting. Keep the inspection report, calculation and review request if there is disagreement.
