Personal firewood on public forest land: obtain the regional permit and follow the assigned area

Check regional eligibility, obtain an area and volume, cut only authorized wood and carry proof during transport.

Priority

A municipal tree permit or a neighbour’s permission gives no harvesting right on public land. Cut nothing before the regional permit is issued.

Confirm the scope

Choose the region and confirm it issues the permit, which may be limited by residence, available areas and periods.

Provide identity, domestic use, volume and vehicle information and pay fees under regional instructions.

Read the map, species, diameter, allowed or prohibited trees, roads, equipment, fire prevention and site-restoration rules.

Carry the permit, measure volume, stay within the area and do not sell or transfer wood obtained for personal use.
