Facility using nuclear substances or radiation devices: prepare the CNSC licence application

Check first

A purchase or device certification does not replace the user’s licence. Have a radiation-protection specialist oversee the application.

Confirm the right process

Confirm with the CNSC the use type, possible exemptions and licensing regime applicable to the activity.

Prepare the dossier

Prepare legal identity, qualified responsible personnel, locations and the required health, safety and environmental protection program.

Submit the application

Complete the form and dossier under REGDOC-1.6.1, then submit them with applicable fees and guarantees.

Follow up

Await issuance before any licensed activity; comply with conditions, reports, inspections, amendments and renewal.
