Occupational hearing loss: document exposure and file a CNESST claim
Have hearing assessed, reconstruct the noise-exposure history and submit the claim with its schedule.

Obtain an assessment
See a health professional and explain workplace noise exposure, protection used, symptoms and their progression. Keep audiograms, referrals, diagnoses and recommendations.
Reconstruct the exposure history
List every employer, job, period, machine, known noise level, exposure duration and protective measure. Add training records, sound measurements, prevention files and coworkers who can confirm the conditions.
Submit the required documents
For an occupational disease, CNESST requires the Worker’s Claim and the schedule corresponding to the disease, including the hearing-loss schedule. Confirm the current deadline and submit a legible file even if some older information is still being obtained.
After the decision
Continue treatment and prevention measures. Keep every decision and its receipt date; if a decision is unfavourable or incomplete, immediately verify review or contest deadlines.
