Renting out buses without drivers: CTQ rental permit

Check the rental regime, eligible customers and CTQ-364 application form.

Check before acting

A rental permit holder must not supply the rented bus’s driver, directly or indirectly.

Define the rental

Check that the proposal is a rental without a driver and that customers belong to eligible categories. Exceptions exist for certain carriers. [1]

Document any exception

Do not assume an exemption. Check the conditions for rentals between carriers and retain relevant evidence and contracts. [1]

Find the current form

Under Buses, open CTQ-364 and the CTQ-343 fee schedule. Use current versions rather than a copy from an earlier transaction. [2]

Assemble the application

Complete the rental application, attach all listed evidence and include payment. Check the applicant’s identity and service description; transport with a driver follows another process. [2]
