Historical context only. A marker shows that flooding was documented at a specific location. It does not, by itself, determine the current risk for a property and does not replace official flood-zone mapping.
Use with flood zones and hydrology
Atlas separates three concepts: mapped flood zones, documented historical floods and forecasts of river flow or level. Looking at them together provides more context without treating them as interchangeable.
