Confirm the scope

Confirm the term, product and origin meet the definition and check the list, homonyms and existing protections.

Prepare the information

Establish responsible-authority status and gather boundaries, quality or reputation, geographical link and foreign legal protection.

Complete the process

Prepare a separate English or French request, pay the fee and file through e-services or an accepted written channel.

Keep follow-up records

Answer examination, monitor publication and prepare to respond to any objection before final listing.
