Quebec ZECs, wildlife reserves and outfitters: recreational territories map

Click the map to identify ZECs, wildlife reserves, outfitters with exclusive rights, community wildlife areas, parks and other recreational territories covering a point.

Atlas uses the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forests' 1:100,000 Recreational Territories of Quebec layer. Unlike another wildlife-territory dataset distributed under a restrictive licence, this layer is released under CC-BY 4.0, allowing Atlas to map it with attribution.

The map can identify: ZECs, wildlife reserves, outfitters with exclusive rights, community wildlife areas, managed small lakes, national and regional parks, marine parks, wildlife refuges, national wildlife areas, ecological reserves, teaching and research forests and the other categories published by the official service.

How does Atlas identify the territory?

When you click the map, your browser sends only the selected point directly to the official MRNF map service. Atlas queries each polygon layer for an intersection and shows the territories containing that point.

Privacy: Atlas does not receive or store your position or searched address. Optional address search communicates directly with OpenStreetMap, while territory identification communicates directly with MRNF.

A mapped boundary is not an authorization

This map is for orientation. Boundaries, access rights, opening periods, hunting or fishing rights and local rules can change. Always confirm with the territory manager and current government information before a regulated activity.
