Residential Water Consumption in Quebec: Municipal Ranking
Compare residential consumption published by MAMH, in litres per person per day, with regional, similar-size municipality and Quebec benchmarks.

A comparable measure. The main ranking uses residential consumption in litres per person per day published through Quebec’s drinking-water efficiency strategy. Atlas also shows regional, population-class and Quebec benchmarks where available.
Interpret carefully. Data comes from municipal annual reports and validity can vary. A high rank does not automatically mean a municipality is “wasting” water: measurement methods, network structure and local context matter.
Total water uses remain contextual data
Atlas also keeps the province-wide estimated water-use data published by MELCCFP, but does not use those mixed-use volumes for the residential ranking because they can include residential, industrial, institutional and other uses.
