Cannabis research: choose the licence model and submit the application through CTLS
Check first
A research licence does not replace other approvals required for a study involving people.
Confirm the right process
Check whether an existing licence already covers the activity; otherwise choose the research model matching the protocols and sites.
Prepare the dossier
Prepare legal identity, locations, responsible people, protocols and required attestations, including requirements specific to non-therapeutic research.
Submit the application
Create the required individual accounts and profile in CTLS, then submit a complete application with clearly named files.
Follow up
Answer Health Canada requests and await the licence; follow its scope, amendment requirements and recordkeeping obligations.
