Guide
Protected or classified federal contract: have the organization sponsored and screened before access
Confirm the contract requirement, obtain sponsorship, disclose structure and ownership, appoint security officers and screen personnel.
Priority
An organization generally cannot sponsor itself. Do not receive protected information or promise access before the appropriate authorization.
Confirm the scope
Identify the security clause, protected or classified level, locations, systems, subcontractors and people needing access.
Prepare the information
Have an eligible source submit sponsorship tied to a genuine contractual requirement.
Complete the process
Prepare the registration application, incorporation, officers, directors, ownership, security officers and consents.
Keep follow-up records
Answer the Program, complete individual screenings and maintain changes, incidents and renewals.
