Debt-settlement service: verify the permit, fees and payments
Check the business and contract, track every payment and respond to non-compliant promises or withdrawals.
An agreement with an agency does not automatically suspend creditor remedies. Before stopping an essential payment, obtain the file’s written status.
Verify the business
Search for the debt-settlement service merchant’s OPC permit. Compare the legal name, address, representatives and security.
Read the contract
Find the promised services, fees, schedule, cancellation terms, payment destination and trust account. Reject guarantees to erase debt or repair a credit score.
Track every amount
Keep statements, receipts, debit authorizations, creditor proposals and balances. Confirm directly with creditors what was actually accepted and paid.
Use the proper complaint route
Use the OPC for merchant non-compliance and separately dispute an unauthorized debit with the bank. A complaint does not replace legal insolvency advice.
