Businesses with 25 or more employees: starting the francization process
Check OQLF registration, prepare the language assessment and maintain francization after certification.
The formal-process threshold does not exempt smaller businesses from their other language obligations.
Check registration requirements
The process applies to businesses employing at least 25 people in Québec for six months. Check for an existing file before creating a new portal application. [1]
Prepare the language assessment
The assessment must be submitted within three months after the registration attestation is issued. Gather information about business operations and communications. [1]
Follow the decision
The Office determines whether French is generalized or a program is needed. Organize responsibilities and requested actions according to its notice, distinguishing registration from certification. [3]
Maintain compliance
After certification, consult ongoing maintenance and reporting obligations. Include language follow-up in organizational changes, tools and communications rather than treating the certificate as the end of the process. [2]
