Immigration consultant conduct or competence: file a complaint with the College using useful evidence

Verify the person in the register, distinguish conduct from fees, preserve the client file and present facts chronologically.

⚠ Immigration thresholds and programs change fast — check the date

This page describes the general structure of the system, which stays stable. But exact thresholds, fees, and specific program statuses can change within weeks. Before relying on a specific figure or date below, confirm the current status on Quebec.ca or Canada.ca.

Priority

A complaint pauses no immigration deadline, does not automatically refund fees and does not replace new advice to protect your status.

Confirm the scope

Check the register for RCIC or RISIA status and record name, number, standing and firm; lawyers and notaries use another regulator.

Prepare the information

Build a chronology of advice, retainers, statements, payments, deadlines, communications, consequences and mitigation.

Complete the process

Gather the contract, receipts, submitted file, messages and decisions without altering originals or adding unnecessary third-party data.

Keep follow-up records

File with the College, cooperate with assessment and separately handle replacement counsel, deadlines, refunds or legal remedies.
