Indigenous business: register in the federal directory and demonstrate eligible ownership and control

Check the structure, document identity and actual ownership and control, file the profile and keep evidence current.

Priority

Registration awards no contract and a nominal majority is not enough. The government may verify who actually owns, decides, finances and benefits.

Confirm the scope

Confirm that the business, cooperative, organization or joint venture is at least 51% Indigenous-owned and controlled.

Prepare the information

Gather identity evidence, formation records, share register, agreements, voting, management, financing and profit allocation.

Complete the process

Create access, complete the public profile, describe capabilities and goods or services and provide requested eligibility documents.

Keep follow-up records

Answer the assessment, correct gaps and update owners, control, contacts and evidence before bidding.
