Suspected insider trading or market manipulation: prepare an AMF whistleblower report
Preserve lawfully obtained information, build a chronology of people, trades and communications, then choose whistleblowing, complaint or police according to the situation.
Do not trade on material non-public information, advise anyone to do so or try to trigger further trades to collect evidence.
Separate the processes
A whistleblower report gives potential violations to investigators. A complaint often concerns your relationship with a firm, while a fraud loss may also require the bank and police.
Protect the information
Keep only material held lawfully. Do not access an account without authorization, alter files or publicize the report.
Build the chronology
Identify people or companies, securities, known accounts, dates, trades, public announcements, communications and the precise basis for suspicion. Explain each document’s source.
Submit and remain reachable
Use the AMF whistleblower program, attach useful documents and provide a safe way for investigators to contact you.
