Long-term gas export project: prepare the licence application and Canadian-surplus analysis

Export licensing and facility approvals are separate. A licence does not replace assessments and permits for physical infrastructure.

Confirm the right process

Confirm that a licence, rather than a short-term order, matches the product, volumes and intended term.

Prepare the dossier

Prepare identity, destinations, quantities, export period and analysis demonstrating surplus over foreseeable Canadian requirements.

Submit the application

Follow Guide Q and the Regulator’s current directions for filing and applicable public-process steps.

Follow up

Answer questions and await required approvals; meet the conditions, deadlines and reporting duties of the issued authorization.
