Mineral exploration: check the land and submit a map designation through GESTIM

Create a member account, check rights and constraints, select the parcel, pay and track registration and post-issuance duties.

Priority

An exploration right does not automatically grant land access or authorization for impact-causing work. Check owners, municipalities, Indigenous communities and separate permits.

Confirm the scope

Review the registry, active and pending rights, withdrawals, reserves, incompatible land uses, urban constraints and private rights.

Prepare the information

Create the ministry identity and GESTIM member profile; verify balance, delegations and the holder’s legal information.

Complete the process

Prepare the map view, select eligible land, recheck coordinates and overlaps, then submit and pay.

Keep follow-up records

Keep the request and decision, notify the municipality when required and plan access, work, reports, renewal and impact authorization.
