Missing or Incorrect Record of Employment: Keep the EI Claim Moving
Request the ROE, check My Service Canada Account and report missing information without delaying the claim.
Submit the benefit application promptly even when a Record of Employment is not yet available.
Check how it was issued
An electronic ROE appears in My Service Canada Account and does not need to be provided on paper. For a paper ROE, the employer must provide a copy under the applicable rules.
Request production or correction
Write to the employer with the last day worked, interruption of earnings and information needing correction. Preserve the request and response; never alter an ROE yourself.
Inform Service Canada
In the application and follow-up, state that an ROE is missing or incorrect. Provide pay records, schedules, contract and employer contacts when requested.
Continue the obligations
Check messages, submit documents and complete reports while the file is assessed. A dispute about the separation reason should be explained with separate facts and evidence.
