Guide

Private woodlot owner: obtain a forest producer certificate to access available measures

Confirm area, have a forest engineer prepare the plan, gather title and mandates, then file with the regional office.

Priority

The certificate is not a cutting permit. Municipal, environmental, tax and timber-marketing rules still apply.

Confirm the scope

Confirm ownership and eligible forest area and correctly group lots and assessment units.

Prepare the information

Hire a forest engineer for the management plan and verify fire-protection membership if applicable.

Complete the process

Attach tax accounts, power of attorney or resolution and records suited to co-ownership, a corporation or trust.

Keep follow-up records

Send the plan, form and fee to the designated office and track plan-linked expiry and amendments.
