Dock, marina, fill or other occupation of Québec’s public water domain: obtain the required land lease
Confirm public ownership, obtain work authorizations, prepare a sketch or plan, then sign and pay for the lease.
The lease regularizes land occupation only. It does not authorize construction or work and does not replace municipal, environmental or federal requirements.
Confirm the scope
Map the riparian land, structure, area, use and occupied parcel and confirm whether it is part of the public water domain.
Prepare the information
Obtain any municipal attestation, environmental authorization and corporate resolution before the land file.
Complete the process
Submit the rights application and prepare a sketch or hire a land surveyor when the department requires it.
Keep follow-up records
Sign the proposal, pay rent, retain the lease and separately manage renewal, transfer, amendment or termination.
