Guide
Original semiconductor chip topography: prepare the federal registration before the filing window closes
Confirm ownership and eligibility, date first exploitation, prepare representations and confidentiality exclusions, then pay the fee.
Priority
A topography commercially exploited for more than two years may be ineligible. Registration protects its configuration, not the chip’s function.
Confirm the scope
Identify the creator, current owner, transfers and applicable nationality or establishment criteria.
Prepare the information
Document first commercial exploitation and calculate the filing window without waiting until its end.
Complete the process
Prepare the title, function, contact details and a complete set of readable overlays, drawings or photographs.
Keep follow-up records
Request the form, file with the fee and retain correspondence, certificate and chain of title.
