Protect people
Move away and upwind if needed, remove ignition sources only when safe and restrict access. Do not attempt cleanup without training and equipment.
Identify without exposure
Record place, time, product or label, estimated amount, source, affected media and progression. Take photos only from safety.
Alert services
Call 911 based on the hazard, then Urgence-Environnement. Give contact details and mention threatened drains, watercourses, soil, wildlife or intakes.
Document follow-up
Keep call times, file numbers, ordered actions, invoices and reports. The responsible party may have further recovery and notice duties.
