Guide

Historic treaty annuity not received: confirm eligibility and request payment from Indigenous Services Canada

Confirm registration and affiliation with an eligible First Nation, choose collective or individual payment and protect identifiers.

Priority

A treaty annuity is not a pension or general compensation. Never give a registration number or identity document to an unverified intermediary.

Confirm the scope

Confirm that you are registered under the Indian Act and affiliated with a First Nation covered by a treaty carrying an annuity.

Prepare the information

Check the community notice for collective payment date, place and identification or download the request form for a missed payment.

Complete the process

Prepare identity, registration number, First Nation, contact details and years claimed without disclosing them publicly.

Keep follow-up records

Send to the stated office, keep a copy and proof and report name, affiliation or contact changes through the official channel.
