Checking your record is a habit
Demerit points accumulate without individual warnings, and an outdated address or health file can lead to a suspension nobody understands. Two minutes in the portal each season avoids the surprise.
The driving record
Total points and the offences behind them, sanctions and conditions, licence classes and expiry, and what the portal does not show: a court file for a contested ticket follows its own course. A probationary licence is more sensitive, since the sanction threshold is lower.
Health: declare, send, request an extension
Read whether a self-declaration or a medical report is required, respect the deadline or request an extension before it expires, keep proof of submission, and do not drive while the licence is suspended or under medical review.
Appointments
Book early for theory and road tests, check which documents and vehicle are required, book the Alcofrein session when it applies and confirm attendance, and cancel as soon as you know: a missed appointment without cancellation can be counted and delay the file.
