Unpaid Construction Wages in Quebec: File a CCQ Wage Complaint

Claim unpaid wages, rates, hours, premiums or benefits with useful evidence for the CCQ.

Do not delay

Contact the CCQ promptly to protect applicable deadlines. Discussions with the employer do not necessarily suspend a time limit.

Confirm CCQ jurisdiction

The complaint concerns monetary conditions governed by the R-20 Act and construction agreements: wages, rate differences, overtime, premiums, benefits or certain expenses.

Rebuild the hours

Prepare competency cards, the employer’s legal name, job sites, dates, trade, duties, schedules, promised rates and payments received. Preserve pay records, deposits, messages, time sheets and site-access photos.

File the complaint

Use the CCQ wage-complaint form and state the facts without inflating the calculation. Keep a full copy and proof of submission, and respond to document requests.

Separate other remedies

An injury, harassment, reprisal, dismissal or work outside R-20 may require another process. Ask the CCQ which regime should receive it.
