Guide

Operating a bus service: apply for a CTQ permit

Choose the transport category, prepare the application and distinguish the permit from heavy-vehicle registration.

Check before acting

The transport permit and registration in the heavy-vehicle owners and operators register are separate obligations.

Choose the category

Describe the planned service and choose the corresponding form: charter, subscription, intercity or another applicable category. Check requirements before offering service. [1]

Submit a complete file

Attach the documents listed in the form and required payment. Check heavy-vehicle registration and prepare any clarifications requested by the Commission. [1]

Follow the authorization

Check the service actually authorized. During operation, the driver must carry the certificate, a copy or the Commission’s decision. [2]

Manage changes

Changing schedules, frequency or discontinuing service may require notices and a CTQ process. Check the category-specific rules before announcing a change. [2]
